Oahu Sets New Record In June

The median price for single-family houses on Oahu reached an all-timehigh in June, according to resales figures released today by the Honolulu Board of REALTORS®. Theanalysis conducted by the Board, using data collected from its computerized Multiple Listing Service(MLS) system, offer the following statistics:

*Median price means half the prices were above and half below the given price.

 In June 2017, the number of single-family houses sold increased by 14.2 percent while condominiumsales decreased slightly by 2.2 percent compared to June 2016. The median price for single-family houseswas $795,000, a 4.6 percent increase from the same period last year, which was the previous record at$760,000. 

The median price for condos decreased by 1.4 percent to $400,000. The Days on Market forsingle-family houses also set a new record with sales closing at an average of 12 days, down from 14 daysin June 2016. Sales of condos closed at 13 days on the market, tying with the previous record of 13 dayson market set in July 2005.
